HEALTH WEEK 2010

Veterans and Ex-Servicemen and women came together at the Toronto RSL sub-Branch rooms

on Friday 23rd of July for a healthy seafood luncheon during Veteran's Health Week.

The Department of Veterans Affairs sponsored the event which this year carried the theme of "Healthy Nutrition",

and the meal served included an Entree of Satay Prawns on a bed of White Rice, the main meal was Fresh Atlantic Salmon served with a crisp Green Salad

and dessert was Fresh Fruit Salad served with Vanilla Ice Cream.

Special Guests for the day included Greg Combet AM MP, our Patron, Air Vice Marshal (rtd) Jack Cornish AO CBE LVO AFC and

 Phillip Keech from Phillip Keech and Associates, Dietician who gave a very informative talk on the value of a healthy diet for the veteran community.

 

                                               

                                               

                                              

                                             

                                             

                                             

                                             

    We would like to thank members of the Toronto RSL Women's Auxiliary

 and others who helped on the day by preparing meals, dressing tables and the serving of meals.

The opening date for the Drop Inn Centre was 30th October 2009 at 11.00am
